Start from: ~7 years old 

• Violas have their own unique middle voice of the string family, and also come in different sizes

• If students want to pick up a string instrument that less people play, the viola is a great choice, and is slightly bigger than a violin

• Students may often begin on violin and move to viola to unlock more ensemble opportunities

• Fun fact: violists read the alto clef
